BENDEYAN

Marca fundada en el 2017 por los hermanos Matías y Melina Bendeyan. Ambos se graduaron en la Universidad de Buenos Aires, completando sus estudios en Central Saint Martins de Londres, la Universidad de Tel Aviv y en Holon Institute of Technology de Israel. Después de haber sido docentes en la universidad y trabajado en marcas argentinas e israelíes, decidieron lanzar su propia marca. La marca tiene como esencia la exploración de texturas, materialidades y morfologías.

Se inspira en artistas contemporáneos, música, diseño industrial y hábitos socioculturales. La marca centra su interés en la mezcla de rubros, tipologías y en deconstruir en todos los niveles, ya sea desde el color, desde la textura y desde la morfología. Su objetivo es proponer una marca de diseño que pueda tener una usabilidad cotidiana, con prendas originales, de calidad y buen calce.
La marca propone tres líneas: atelier (alta costura), contemporánea (ready to wear) y atemporal (esenciales unisex). La primera línea es la más experimental usando bordado y detalles a mano como técnica principal. La segunda, tiene algunos elementos del primero aplicado a ready to wear. Finalmente, la tercera es una línea non- fashion que propone básicos en un pack envasado al vacío de 3 remeras de 100% algodón pima, unisex y talle único, que ironiza acerca de la moda descartable en formato de pack que parece un envase de comida.

Nuestro propósito es proponer una marca de diseño pero que pueda ser llevado por la gente, con prendas originales, de calidad y buen calce.

Bendeyan is a fashion house based in Buenos Aires, founded by Bendeyan's brothers Matias and Melina in 2017. Both are graduated from Buenos Aires University, completing their studies on Central Saint Martins, Tel Aviv University and Holon Institute of Technology. After they have worked on argentinian and israeli brands they decided to launch their own brand. The brand takes its inspiration on contemporary art, music, industrial design and contemporary cultural habits. The brand proposes three lines:
01 atelier (high couture)
02 contemporary (ready to wear)
03 atemporal (unisex essentials)
The first line is more experimental using hand embroidery and hand details as a technique. The second one, has some elements from the first one applied to ready to wear. Finally, the third one is a nonfashion line, which proposes a vacum pack of 3 pima t shirt, unisex and one size, which has the idea of timeless.

About Melina

Statement.

She mixes fashion and art influenced by her fashion design profession. Through different techniques, such as embroidery, painting and collage (mainly) she poses in a surreal, psychedelic and playful way.
Her vision proposes thinking about the role of the body as an artistic support and a deconstruction of it.

Bio.

Argentine fashion designer and visual artist born in 1991. Creative director and co-founder of Bendeyan fashion brand, winner of awards such as «CMD label»; Authors of fashion BA (March 2018), among others.
Graduated from the University of Buenos Aires as an outstanding student (December 2014). She taught there in Fiorini Chair (Subject: Fashion and Textile Design), worked in fashion production for magazines such as Ohlalá, GQ (Mexico), Brando, among others; in national brands and international brands, such as Limor Rosen Studio (Tel Aviv). He complemented his studies at the London University of the Arts (UAL – Central Saint Martins), National University of the Arts (UNA), Tel Aviv University (EID – Entrepreneurship & Innovation Development The Israeli Model ”) and at Holon Institute of Technology ( «Foward to the future: Revolutionary Technologies HIT» Tel Aviv).
